Do you believe in miracles?

An Ocala firefighter and his wife had been trying to start a family for about a decade, when suddenly a baby was literally dropped in their laps.

As CBS Miami reports, six months ago, someone dropped of a newborn in Florida's only Safe Haven box.

The box is located at Ocala Fire Rescue Station 1.

Who found the baby? The Ocala firefighter desperately trying to start a family.

He rushed the baby to the hospital and immediately told the doctors that he and his wife were interested in adopting her.

"It wasn't real until we got the call and they told us I could go in and visit her in the NICU [neonatal intensive care unit]," said the adoptive mother, who wishes to remain anonymous.

"We have been trying for almost a decade to have a family and everything has just not worked out for us. So we're like 'Okay, don't get our hopes up, don't get our hopes up," she said.

The couple received the go-ahead almost immediately to begin the adoption process.

"Everyone was in dis belief that she was hand-delivered to us...almost."

In April, the adoption became official.
